In 2021, Balenciaga commissioned Anna Uddenberg to create sculptures as part of its ongoing Art in Stores initiative, which integrates contemporary art into its global retail spaces. Reboot (2021) retains her signature interplay of anthropomorphic and utilitarian forms. The figure adopts a kneeling stance with its upper body pressed against a wall, embodying themes of submission, dependence, and performativity. It incorporates harness-like structures and cushioned elements that suggest comfort and mobility, while a fishing rod-like extension arches above, suspending weights in a precarious and symbolic balance.
