'I consider myself a landscape painter, albeit an eccentric one. Landscapes hold records of Nature’s ambivalence. Harm is a human construct. Nature has no laws, it just is and does. And I think this quote from Tales from Earthsea answers the question about immortality: ‘What goes too long unchanged destroys itself. The forest is forever because it dies and dies and so lives.' These works always bring me back to my earlier fascination with Altdorfer'.
